Video Competition Rules

The World Snowboard Day Team (EuroSIMA, Villa Casa Mia, 9 avenue des Acacias, 40130 Capbreton, France) is holding a video competition entitled «Girls powDer».


ARTICLE 1 - Eligibility
The World Snowboard Day video competition is open to any individual or group of persons.


ARTICLE 2 - Application Fee
The competition application fee is free.


ARTICLE 3 – Application procedure
The principle of the competition is to make a video on the occasion of the World Snowboard Day 2009 which subject is «Girls powDer». The video must be related with snow, snowboard and girls. That could be the World Snowboard Day seen by girls, or girls riding in the pow, or a demo of the «Girls Power» in snowboarding. Boys are not excluded from this competition. Every original idea is welcome.

  • The competition is open to everyone starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2009 and ending at midnight on January 20, 2010. Entries posted or sent after that date and time will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted for late entries.
  • To participate, each entrant needs to register on www.vimeo.com and create his own «Basic» account.
  • From December 20, 2009, entrants can go to www.vimeo.com and post their video online which subject is «Girls powDer».
  • During the downloading of their video, the entrants need to to tick «Allow other people to download the source video» and «Allow other people to add this video to groups, channels and albums» in the «privacy» tab.
  • Send us a link to your file on www.vimeo.com at the following email address: contact@worldsnowboardday.com. We will release your video on the «World Snowboard Day» channel on Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/channels/wsd.
  • Applicants commit themselves to communicate only exact, real and sincere information. Any wrong or uncompleted declaration will be considered as out of competition.
  • All videos must respect the terms and conditions of Vimeo available on www.vimeo.com.
  • Each entrant warrants that he is the sole owner and author of said material entered, and have exclusive right and authority to submit the same to the World Snowboard Day competition upon the terms and conditions stated herein. EuroSIMA gets free of any responsibility in case of competitioning with regard to the image reproduction rights and\or the copyright by third parties.
  • All entries become the property of the EuroSIMA. Each entrant whose video qualifies, gives to the EuroSIMA an irrevocable exclusive licence to use, copy, distribute, communicate, broadcast, modify, edit, adapt, segment and otherwise exploit the video for any purpose in any media worldwide without notice or fee. The author gives up the completeness of his rights on the video.

ARTICLE 4 - Winners selection procedure
A jury of professionals composed of EuroSIMA members and World Snowboard Day partners, will meet between January 21 and January 24, 2009 to select 3 finalists. These 3 videos will be subjected to the votes of the Internet users from Monday, January 25th, 2010 to Sunday, February 14th, 2010 at midnight. The highest number of votes determines the winning video. The winners’ names will be released on the WSD website: www.world-snowboard-day.com on Monday, February 15th, 2010.


ARTICLE 5 – Prizes
Prizes description: apparel and accessories from famous boardsports brands. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash and the EuroSIMA reserves the right to substitute any prize for an item of similar value.


ARTICLE 6 - Renunciation of recourse
Each entrant wishing to compete will have to respect all the points of the present competition rules. In case of non-respect of the competition rules, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the application. Applicants commit themselves to refrain from taking any recourse against the conditions of organization of the competition, the results or the jury decisions.


ARTICLE 7 - Freedom & Data Protection
Personal details relating to you may be data-processed in compliance with the French Law of January 6, 1978 relating to Freedom & Data Protection. Pursuant to the provisions of articles 34 and 36 of the French Law of January 6, 1978 relating to Freedom & Data Protection, you have the right to access, correct, modify and delete any data relating to you.
